Readiness looks different for every child, and our teachers are experienced in working with beginners at every age starting at 3. If you're not sure your child is ready, reach out and we'll talk it through with you.

Yes. Parents or guardians are required to stay in the room for the duration of the lesson. We find this supports younger students, helps families stay connected to what's being taught, and makes at-home practice easier to reinforce.

Yes. All Studio Arco teachers undergo a background check before joining our team.

We're a Suzuki "ish" studio. All of our teachers are Suzuki trained, and we use Suzuki Method books, especially with younger students. That said, we don't follow a single method rigidly — teachers draw on other modalities as well, tailoring each student's experience to their personality and how they learn best.

Practice expectations grow as students progress:

• Beginners Ages 3-6: 5-15 minutes a day, 5–6 days a week.

• After completing Twinkle (or by around age 6): 20 minutes a day minimum, with more time at the teacher's discretion as students advance.

Every Studio Arco teacher has studied music at the collegiate level and completed Suzuki Method training. Beyond credentials, each one is hand-selected by our director — she only brings on teachers she'd be genuinely excited to have teach her own children. That standard shapes everything about who joins our team.

It depends on the instrument:

• Stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass): Students may rent from Williams Fine Violins or The Violin Shop.

• Piano: Talk with your instructor directly, or visit Shuff's Music in Franklin.

• Guitar and other instruments: Your teacher will go over instrument options with you at your first lesson.

Tuition runs year-round. You can find our full lesson calendar under the Schedule tab on our website.

Tuition covers all lessons and recitals.

Yes, a one-time $150 registration fee applies. It covers your student's first books and lesson materials, along with administrative costs.

Autopay is required for all students. Specific terms around billing dates and late payments are outlined in our Terms & Conditions at signup.

Yes, two:

• Sibling discount: 10% off for siblings enrolled at Studio Arco.

• Group class discount: 10% off group class packs for students who are also enrolled in continuing private lessons.

Not at this time. We have plans to introduce merit-based and need-based scholarships in the future — email us to stay up to date as those become available.

Yes. We hold recitals twice a year, and we'll announce additional performance opportunities throughout the year as they come up. Ensemble work and performance experience are part of what makes Studio Arco's approach unique.

• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

• Students may use up to 1 makeup credit per semester, or 2 per calendar year.

• If a scheduled makeup lesson is missed or canceled, the credit is forfeited and not returned.

• Makeup credits can only be used on set makeup days advertised in advance by Studio Arco, and expire 365 days after being issued. Other makeup times will be added at teacher/director discretion.
